Sunday, April 24, 2022 - 1:00pm
During the Pinwheel Walk on Sunday, April 24, we will gather together as a community to plant 696 pinwheels representing each case of Child Abuse opened by Medina County Job and Family Services during 2021.
Pre-Walk activities will include Huntington Bank’s Ice Cream Truck, visits with Super Heroes from Super Heroes to Kids in Ohio, face painting by EnchantaRoo Face and Body Art, Girl Scout Silver Award Project display of “What Were You Wearing?” to dispel myths about sexual assault, and more.
Opening remarks will include a Survivor sharing her experience healing from abuse, recognition of the team of professionals that work to help children who have been abused on their pathway to healing, and proclamations marking April as Child Abuse Prevention Month from Mayor Dennis Hanwell and the Medina County Commissioners.
The event will culminate with a 3/4-mile walk from the Historic Medina Square past the Medina Police Department, Medina County Building, and Medina Courthouse to the Medina Library where we will plant the garden of 696 pinwheels along Washington Street.
We would appreciate if you would pre-register for the event.
